An evidence-based overview of research examining MariTide in the context of obesity. This page synthesizes findings from peer-reviewed literature.
Research Summary
The published Phase 2 dose-ranging trial (NCT05669599; Jastreboff et al., NEJM 2025) demonstrated up to -16.2% body weight at 52 weeks vs -2.5% with placebo in adults with obesity (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with comorbidities), and weight-loss curves had not plateaued by study end. The MARITIME Phase 3 program (including NCT06858839 in obesity without diabetes) was initiated in 2025 to confirm efficacy in larger populations; those trials are ongoing and have not yet reported.
