Low Evidence Research Overview

KPV Research for Skin Inflammation

An evidence-based overview of research examining KPV in the context of skin inflammation. This page synthesizes findings from peer-reviewed literature.

Research Summary

KPV, derived from the anti-inflammatory portion of alpha-MSH, has been studied for skin inflammatory conditions. The peptide inhibits inflammatory pathways in keratinocytes and immune cells. Research demonstrates anti-inflammatory effects in models of contact dermatitis and other skin inflammation. The melanocortin system is known to modulate cutaneous immune responses. Topical KPV formulations are of interest but have not been clinically evaluated. The peptide's small size facilitates skin penetration.
