Research Summary
HMG is FDA-approved for ovulation induction in anovulatory women and controlled ovarian hyperstimulation for IVF. Cochrane meta-analysis of 42 RCTs (9,606 women) demonstrated significantly higher live birth rates compared to recombinant FSH. Highly purified HMG (HP-hMG) shows particular benefit in conventional IVF cycles.
